Video Editing Suites
- "The Beat" is a student-run community news and talk show created to develop strong connections between ĢƵ State and the City of ĢƵ.
- Community members create podcasts focused on events both on campus and beyond in ĢƵ State's audio production suite.
- Working with the Multicultural Affairs Office to produce high-definition video profiles of ĢƵ State's Alternative Individual Development and Upward Bound programs.
- Through a partnership with ĢƵ Art Museum, the department has produced video segments highlighting the museum’s mission and showcasing some of its exhibits in order to help heighten public awareness of its exhibits, events, and educational imperatives.
- Shrewsbury Historical Commission and ĢƵ State partnered to edit a short documentary chronicling the restoration of a historical building.
- Partnering with recent graduates to facilitate the production of 2 public service announcements designed to heighten public awareness of disabled youth and inform people of summer camp options for this particular demographic.

Professor’s new book chapter explores politics of inclusion in film
ĢƵ State Professor of Communications Julie Frechette is an award-winning scholar specializing in media studies and feminist studies. In addition to publishing three books, Frechette has contributed chapters in the edited volumes Gender, Race, and Class in Media (2020, Sage College Publishing); Gender and Media: A Reference Handbook (2022, ABC-CLIO); and New Media Technology and the Motion Picture Industry (2014, Peter Lang), each of which offers critical insights into equity and representation in media landscapes.
